v0.0.1 fixes some UI bugs reported during the jam (thank you for reporting everyone!) and re-curves the increasing difficulty so that you can play for as long as your fingers can keep up
Bug fixes:
- Cauldron shows brewing progress now like the Anvil does
- HP updates correctly (it wasn't showing healed HP until you then later lost HP, the underlying value was still accurate)
- The web version no longer shows a Quit button on the Main Menu which just caused the web page to freeze and cause issues until refreshed
New or improved features:
- About page updated with accurate credits
- HP UI changes fade in and out instead of instantly changing to make changes more obvious
- If you have more herbs than you need to fully heal, you will no longer waste those and instead only use the herbs you need to fully heal
- I originally thought it would be cool to force the player to time this to avoid waste, but all this does is punish players who are good enough to not lose any health before gathering more herbs than they need
- This also enables longer runs (by allowing the stockpiling of herbs)
- Player attack, gather, forge, and brew speeds all scale up with the zombie attack speeds.
- This removes the previous progress block when the zombies would become faster than the player (whose speed previously was a constant with no growth)
I haven't decided which order I will do the next work in, but some of the things I have planned are background music, sounds effects, breaking up close calls into 2x and 3x based on how very close you get, zombie bosses (who don't despawn until killed, repeatedly attacking you)... and of course the boring stuff, like a settings menu to control the resolution, toggle fullscreen, and volume controls once there is music and sounds effects to control.
