Version 0.0.2 is up! I'm happy with the first sound effect, but I also noticed something I did not get to yet: because the game gets faster and faster, but the spawn rates do not... eventually the game gets easier. Oops. Take advantage now and pump your leaderboard numbers if you want to cheat, because that's the next thing I'm fixing. Why not now? I ran out of dev time today but didn't want to put off posting again. Trying to form a habit here, after all.
Bug fixes:
- No more crashes after you die because the HP bar is trying to animate hearts that do not exist (taking HP below 0)
New or improved:
- Player attack sound effect
- It ramps up as you charge the attack then issues the attack sound after it take effect
- This will scale correctly with your attacks getting faster as the game goes
- This also cancels when you do, again to help the "feel" of the game -- now gathering feels lame all silent, but give it time!
- New background
- I intend to use this as a mechanic in future versions, say, to pulse it as a warning when waves are inbound, that kind of thing
- For now, just static
- Menu fade
- The main menu is a little easier to enter and leave on the eyes
