In-development idle clicker about the rise of civilization, one step at a time

AnthroClicker is an idle game about the rise of your civilization, from the gathering of your berry foraging buddies, to the transition from Copper Age to Bronze Age. You will need to carefully revisit each era of progress to maintain a well-balanced civilization capable of growing into a prosperous society.

Right now it's very rough (dev-made art mostly, no music or sound effects), and its balance of mechanics is dubious at best. However, it does have all the basics to make it a playable idle game in its early development:

  • Will auto-save and auto-resume your progress (periodically, also on quitting through game UI when running on Windows)
  • Shows the cost of purchasing automation and what the automation will cost and produce (by hovering mouse over each Hire Worker button)
  • Shows the productivity of Workers and breakdown of Resource contributions (by hovering mouse over each row)
  • Navigation between Areas through left and right buttons at the top, or by clicking on a Worker row (which will jump to the Area where that Worker is hired)
  • An end state, with some basic stats about your play from beginning to end
  • Adjustable resolution and full-screen toggle with persisted preference (Windows only, not web)

Note: if you are playing the web version from macOS, please use Safari -- there is a bug with Godot 4 and Chrome that prevents games from working, and this game was built using Godot 4, so that's one bug I cannot fix.

Hello!
I am trying to run a game in a web browser (Chrome on mac) but i am stuck at infinite loading screen.
Sadly I am mac user and cant download .exe.

hey there! I apologize, what you’re seeing is a bug in the game engine I’m using (Godot 4) whose web builds for macOS don’t work with Chromium browsers. I *think* that Safari will work, but unfortunately I do not have a macOS device of my own to test that, or to build a macOS version for you :( would you be willing to test the game with Safari?

Sure! Will test it after work. :D

It's me again.
On Safari game is running smoothly.

I really enjoy the idea that after progressing, the previous eras still have an impact on the game loop.

Thank you so much for letting me know! I'll be sure to update the game page to warn other macOS users so they know how to get it working.

Thank you for the kind words :) I am hoping to get the balance such that there's a need to revisit previous areas each time you upgrade, but right now it gets ridiculously bottlenecked on stone tools. If there's anything else you see that I should fix let me know!
